5 minutes with Rachel

1. Who were you named after?

No one specifically.

2. First item you splurged on and what age

Tamagachi when I was 9. It was $10 (am I dating myself here?)

3. What book are you currently reading (or last read)?

High Performance Habitsby Brendon Burchard. I love self-development books alongside with health/nutrition books

4. Favorite space to be in

Anywhere with greenery and/or yummy interesting food.

5. Favorite dish/ food?

My mother’s breaded baked chicken. Childhood food is always the best!

6. One word you would use to describe yourself

Intentional

7. What does a typical day in your life look like?

It varies, but typically I wake up at 5.30 am. I write in my journal first thing in the morning and list all the things I am grateful for and make my list of goals for the day. Then depending on the day I either choose to work out or get dressed, eat a quiet breakfast and get some work stuff done before the kids get up. At 7am I get the kids ready and send them off to school between 8- 8.30am. I then head to work with whatever that entails - seeing clients, creating content, working on projects. I’m home with the kids anywhere between 3pm to 6pm depending on the day. On days I get home later I usually do simple dinners or leftovers from the night before - as long as everyone is fed it’s a mommy-win! When I am home I do my best to be present with my kids. After dinner it’s bath time, play time, and then bedtime at about 7pm. My evenings vary - I either do more work-related things, get house stuff done, or go out on date night (we try, emphasis on try!, to make it a weekly thing) depending on the night. I aim to be in bed by 9.30pm but that rarely happens, I’m usually in bed by 10.30pm.

8. Chocolate - milk, dark or white?

Dark, for sure!

9. Where did you grow up? Tell us a bit about it…

I grew up in the Jewish community of Crown Heights in Brooklyn, NY for most of my life. It was, and still is, a happening place to be. There is never a dull moment and you will always find something to do or somewhere to go.

10. Who is your fave blogger and why?

Does insta blogging count? If so I’d say Rachel Hollis because she reminds women that we are made for more and calls us to action to live our best life on our own terms.

11. What makes you feel beautiful?

When I’m confident in myself and who I am! Also, lipstick - I love a bold lipstick.

12. All-time favorite piece of clothing?

I have a floral dress that I wear more often than I care to admit for almost 2 years now. I bought 2 of the same dress because it's so comfortable and works for all seasons.

13. Do you have a hobby?

I love developing dessert recipes… and then eating them, of course!

14. Where do you see yourself in 20 years?

In a nutshell - living a purposeful life, in whatever way that manifests itself.

15. What drives you as a person?

Wanting to be the best version of myself and wanting the same for others. I don’t want to look back in 20 years and feel regret about things I “could’ve” or “should’ve” done but didn’t because I was too scared to or gave excuses or cared what others would say. I want to live life to the fullest and that means putting fear aside, believing in yourself and going for it! The only way to do that is if you are focused on being the best version of YOU and stop looking at what everyone else is doing.

16. flats or heels?

I like both but if I had to choose - flats. Because comfort trumps all.

17. To fur or not to fur

I’ve never owned fur, it’s not really my style, but I like the look - especially those cute fur slippers that have been trending.
