Last month, I approached the end of October with a concern I hadn't experienced before- I wasn’t sure what I should talk about!?  Usually, I have some 'bee in my bonnet', and my bi-monthly Wrapt rants often provide me a vehicle through which I can express them (on that note; I want to take this opportunity to recognize and thank the few community members who read them), but this time I had nothing.

So, I put it to the Wrapt community…silence.

Ok, you know what!? If there is one thing that I’ve learnt from creating and navigating this platform, it’s that it is not just for me. We are building something here, with each new reader and contributor the community increases, and with every month it continues to organically grow. For the better, always for the better. And I am grateful for that, as well as the ongoing opportunities for us to grow personally and professionally through the process.

As we navigate the end of the year, we travel through November (my birthday month) and then December, which for many is a time for family, thanksgiving and well, gift-giving. So I am going to keep it simple and share my top 19 things this 2019.

So, happy end of year fam!!! Wishing you a meaningful last couple months of 2019, and to those celebrating Thanksgiving, Christmas, Kwanzaa or Chanuka, wishing you many happy returns! Looking forward to navigating 2020 with you.

Sincerely,

Chav

More from the Mother of Pearl SS20 collection, because the elegant fall and layered quality of the this collection excites me in a way fashion hasn’t really for a while, 5. Rayban (vintage style) sunglasses, available everywhere, 7. Can’t get enough of Cape Gooseberries and Lychees, best in July and August, rich in nutrients and beneficial in balancing blood glucose level natural- they are also compositionally gorgeous in this storyboard! 8. A resin glasses chain forms Raybans, obviously, Etsy (vintage) and Amazon, 9. Pretty much anything prepared by Adina Schlass, queen of healthy and clean-eating, @thechefswife

Clockwise from top: 10. Queer Eye: We’re in Japan, Netflix. My favorite light-workers traverse the American and Japan cultural divide with style and grace. 11. Today Will Be Different, by Maria Semple. An interesting exploration of the Modern Woman through the inner monolgue of a working American mother. 12. Modern Love, Amazon. This new TV series, based on a column of the same name in The New York Times, examining the many forms love can take in today’s world. 13. The Hate You Give, by Angie Thomas. This book’s success was overwhelmed by the film based on it (haven’t watched it, but it can’t stand up to the hype, can it?!). This book however, is an incredibly valuable take on youth, growth, mistakes, pressure and survival in a racist system wired against young POC.

Clockwise from the top: 15. The most amazing wide leg wrap pants, Rosie Assoulin AW19, but why stop there!? Take in all her brilliant designs, 16. Knit sweater, Ulla Johnson AW19, 17. Merino Wool Mules, Gucci- as ridiculous as these shoes seem, Merino Wool is the most hygienic, insulating and sweat resistant of materials and they are so, so fun! So, if you want to put the UGG boots away for a season, consider these as an alternative option. Farfetch. 18 & 19. Some selfcare sisters! More personal indulgence- massages, manicures and pedicures (I haven’t had one of these this year…I don’t honestly know what I am waiting for).
